The Next Day: Vent Time
So the day after that God Awful movie I needed to vent somewhere on just how bad this movie was, so i went onto movies.com and discovered most of the people on there (if not everyone) LIKED the movie, heres my response.
Minor Spoilers
WOW OMG!!! Did we see another movie or something or are all of you apart of the J.J Abrams club and are required to like his crap movies!?! THIS MOVIE WAS TERRIBLE! Jesus Christ it's like you guys all lost your taste for good movies and decided to jump on this "underground required to like bad movies because it gets me attention or something" bandwagon ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandwagon_effect ). Ok given, there was some pretty cool scenes in the movie, but the first 20 minutes of "Dawson's Creek" was enough to instantly lose interest, thank god I don't have an attention span of a 7 year old and was able to live through that horrific event. Ugh, just what did you guys like about this movie!? the fact that it was a romantic comedy in disguise of a monster movie? or maybe it was the motion sickness you got everytime that lard Seth Rogan wannabe started running? perhaps it was the fact that it didn't explain a da/\/\n thing as to what the monster was and why was the movie was called Cloverfield? (don't tell me that's what the military named the project). O WAIT! is it that the monster and monsterings were totally ripped off of everything from Resistence: Fall of Man and The Mist? Just...if you haven't seen this movie yet don't go and see it (I strongly urge it, biggest waste of money since my friends convinced me to go see Balls of Fury), unless you want to see it that bad (in which case bring a gun) be sure to watch a really good movie right afterwards, thankfully when me and my friend got home Lewis Black was on T.V and we followed that up with Lucky Number Slevin.
I look forward to the inevitable insults, and defensive insults. BTW i'm not trolling this is how i honestly feel about this movie.
Heres a crap low quality YouTube video attempting to explain where the monster came from and also theres a hidden audio message saying "It's Still Alive" (Of coarse its still alive!! did you see the ass-kicking it took, I don't think a nuclear bomb would down that thing, it would just piss it off more, and if those little fucking things turn into that...then earth would have a new dominant race.) In the video at 6:17 there is a subtle "splash" in what appears to be a UFO crashing into the water (while hundreds of people are out there on the beach...right), but it's utter bullshit because if a fucking UFO crashed and this guy was recording it...just everyone in this movie is an idiot ok? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-589005187335815246&q=Cloverfield+ending&total=136&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=3

Thanks for posting this, i was considering going to see it but after i saw a few reviews, its totally out of the question.
BTW if you're looking for a really good film, go and see Walk Hard, it was amazing. |

when you said cloverfield vent i thought you meant harrassment involving hud and wow nerd returns
still pretty awesome rant. lewis black and slevin werent enough so i watched flesheater, bad santa, and superbad when i got home. |
