I typed this thread up for about a half-hour, then accidentaly closed the window. I'm pissed. Instead of actually discussing it normally, I'm just going to type the things I talked about in the thread in pure factual form.
-I'm going to buy a $599 version PS3 when it comes out on November 17th.
-The PS3 is a computer.
-The PS3 is available in Black, White, and Silver.
-PS3 contollers are wireless, and rechargable via USB charger.
-The PS3 discs are slot loaded, rather than using a cd tray.
-The PS3 has 2 versions, one for $499 and one for $599. The cheaper version doesn't quite have full HDMI support, and only a 20GB HDD, plus other small differences.
-The PS3 is compatible with PS1/2 games.
-No memory cards are needed since there is a 60GB HDD.
-PS1/2 data can be copied to the hard drive via an adaptor, and can then be played from the hard drive and saved over.
-Any memory storage device that can be hooked up to the PS3 can be used as a memory card for taking any kind of data to your friend's house.
-If you are taking a PS1/2 save file to a freinds house and they dont own a PS3, the adaptor can be used to copy the data into the memory card again from the PS3 HDD.
-You can surf the internet with the PS3.
-Online PS3 services are free, and integrated too.
-The PS3 uses Blu-ray discs as the primary format, which is an extremely high definition disc with fast loading time and 100GB of memory.
-The PS3 can play CD, DVD, and Blu-ray Disc.
-It has Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital, DTS, and Bluetooth.
-It has 4 USB ports in front, for use with, well... frickin' everything.
-PS3's Cell processor, co-manufactured by Sony, Toshiba, and IBM, is the most powerful and capable processor in the world.
-Like XBox and 360, PS3 has an in-game menu that allows all sorts of features like those of XBox and 360, like playing music from the HDD during the game obviously.
-Frontlines: Fuel of War looks cool.
-PS3's video features are similar to XBox's new camera that's coming out soon. There's too many uses to explain so just think about it.

I was gonna explain a bunch of things that the PS3 can do, but then I realized that I already did when I said "The PS3 is a computer". All you have to do is think of things that you could do on a computer and voila. The only things that keeps PS3 from being the main computer of the household is the lack of a printer, a scanner, and an ease-of-use operating system like Windows XP that would make any data related activity on and offline possible. Yes, you can obviously hook up a keyboard, and upgrade the HDD. Who knows, maybe there will be printers, scanners, and operating systems too. It's likely that in the future, Video Game systems, PCs, video players, audio players, and TVs will all be the same device, with a compatible portable counterpart. And it all starts with the PS3/PSP. I am sickly nerdy over this shit. Hooray technology! Hooray Sony! Mothafuckin' ef drink!  BEEYAAWWWWW!

I wish I could afford one of those. It sounds like they copied a lot of Microsoft's ideas though.
But they use bluray :D Xbox wishes it could say that.
But why dont they just make a high speed bluray though? |

wow... that's totally not what i expected from you. and i'm serious.
while i'm here, lemme solidify some of the sony slander thats been going around.
-The Sony press confrence at E3 2006 was shitty and embaressing--true
-The guy playing Genji 2: Days of the Sword sucked at it, and was bad at describing real-time weapon change--true
-The Genji demonstrator meant to say that the battles were based in PLACES of ancient japanese battles--true
-For massive damage on the giant enemy crab, attack it's weak point--true
-The warhawk demonstrator practiced using the motion sensing controller before e3--FALSE
-Sony coppied the idea of a motion sensing controller from nintendo--false--the motion sensor in sony's controller is fundamentally different from that of the wii. it's just a new featue in systems, like wireless controllers, which all three have. besides, did you call microsoft copycats when they decided to make the xbox? didnt somebody already make a really good compact disk and dvd based gaming system?--true (sony ps2)
-the grand truismo demo ran too long and was underwhelming due to the silence of the demo video--true
-the new grand turismo will be bad because the demo was bad--FALSE
-genji 2 will be a good game also, despite it's horrible demonstration--FALSE. IT WILL SUCK.
-omfg sony suxx0rz cuz they had a demonstration with a rhino and a sunset and that iz teh
stoopidz!--FALSE--it was a graphics demonstration and it was god damn amazing.
-The PS3 is rediculously and unfairly overpriced--false false FALSE!
Standalone blu-ray disc players cost $800 and the ps3 does the exact same thing at 3/4ths the price, and yet it also contains the $500 cell processor, and a good $400 worth of other technology that is literally unparalleled. all for only $500-600--TRUE!

-XBox 360 sucks--false
-nintendo wii sucks--false
-PS3 is better than Xbox 360 and/or Wii--false--it's all based on preference
unlike microsoft and nintendo fans, i don't slander the enemy just because i like one system more than the other. it's different for everyone. however, i reserve my right to slander the fans who create ignorant slander videos to try to lower the sales of a wonderful system. just look how pathetic these fools are, trying to ruin sony's name by looking at all of the bad and none of the good, and taking things out of context so it sounds like they're saying something they aren't. point and laugh, as their dreams shall be shattered when everyone goes and buys a ps3 anyway!

| god i hate it when dumb people pretend they know stuff. playstation 3 was already being planned out before xbox 360 was you fool. do you think they were like "golly jee microsoft made xbox 360 lets try to 1-up them by throwing in some more features". no. the playstation 3 copies off of 360 in no way shape or form. thats like saying playstation 1 copied off of n64. |

nah man. The ability to play the music in game was a feature of the original xbox. Thats the only thing I could really think of that they "copied."
and what did they change in the 360 anyways besides making the controllers wireless and making it all shiny? OH! And the little noise the system makes to let you know it just soaked your CD in nitric acid. lol. yes, true story...kinda. |
